My memory Pocket is dedicated to mothers and daughters and the special shared time between them when they are full of love, bonding, and coping. No matter how short-lived the moment-this pocket is for those moments in their unabashed and unashamed feminine way.
Within the pocket are rose petals and a foto of me, as a child with the family dog.

Healing Dream

I awoke this morning
With the feel of my mother’s kiss on my cheek
She’s been dead almost twenty years
In my dream she was a woman twenty years my junior like my daughter
So light on her feet
Lighter than I ever remembered her
Lighter than a mortal
She gifted me with a brightly painted scene
of a happy community in the sun
I had reason to believe that only I could see her
and she only had eyes for me
We were friends at last-real friends
Then she had to leave
in that new weightless way of hers
The way she’s been since she died
